To date, Alessi and Barsky’s oeuvre has been shorts; but clearly, they’ve not only been learning the ropes as they’ve worked their way up to their first feature-length production, they’ve also been having fun and building up a solid core of professionals with whom to work.
In order for Billy to save Allie’s life, he must give up the lost medallion to Cobra, who rules the island and its people. In order to retrieve the medallion and save the island people from slavery, Billie and Allie must work together with a young arrogant king.
I’ll applaud Jackson for using the film to break new ground with cinematic technology, and for achieving a somewhat kinder, gentler Middle-earth. But this is simply not a compelling film, except for the most die-hard of fans.
