Some of the good things about this film: They utilize the book in the film. They do a great job of letting kids know that this is a book. (I hope they will be able to reintroduce kids to actually reading a book now and then.)

Silence is the very best way to create a rift between two parties. Perhaps I have your attention now. Perhaps you don’t know what to say. Perhaps I don’t either, and make up things in my head to fill the silence.

Once again the joy of the Lord brings out strong laughter! Of course the gamble every comic makes is that some may not laugh. But what if nobody laughs? That is the greatest fear of all.

Tragedy never means all is lost. Our perspective is too small. There is always a continuing narrative. Our trick is to jump back into the story.

What can be bad about having virtual friends? Chat rooms are harmless and might even be good for us as a society. Right? Hmm. Not so fast.
