If you are looking for a creative sitcom that will develop both its characters and its laughs over time, this may not be the series for you. If you enjoy watching the follies of bachelors and can handle sexual innuendo, then this is your show!
Though very informative early on, Israel: A Journey Through Time takes several strides onto some shaky ground. Rev. Dr. Tweedie is clearly operating under the assumption that Israel has been and will always be God’s people.
I think that Bedtime Stories is a magical reminder of our control over our destinies while at the same time a humbling reminder of our lack of control. It’s a paradoxical life we live and sometimes it’s a movie that reminds of us of such.
The vanity of obsession with lapdogs—carrying them in designer purses, buying them jewelry, or taking them to the day spa—undermines the subtle, yet more socially important themes, all of which end up taking a shallow back seat.
If you appreciate fine historical assessment, quality cinematography, or organized reporting this documentary is your kind of film… and if you want a historical evaluation of America minus the partisan soapbox or cookie-cutter answers!
