Be still, and recognize Who’s in control.. That is perhaps the best response to any situation, good or bad. I would love to have Sherlock Holmes’ brilliance, but it’s better to have confidence in the Creator of the human mind, the Inventor of life.
“Human beings are 50% animal and 50% spiritual,” he observes. “Some movies appeal to just the animal. I like to expand that into the spiritual side of things. And there’s an enormous audience for the animal side, but people need to feed their souls.”
When the peace of God is restored in our hearts—or in the land of Dor—the clouds roll away, the people rejoice, basking in the sunlight of a brand new day. We, the people of Dor, enjoy the benefits of that brave “Despereaux” who fought for us all so long ago, that we might enjoy life as He intended.
Even when faced with traumatic and saddening situations, the love of God never wanes and never grows cold. Like a warm pastelillo and a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night, God’s Word, his love, are like health to our body.
There’s a bit of “you reap what you sow,” and a little of “be sure your sins will find you out,” with a reminder of “vengeance is mine, says the Lord” going on. Sprinkle with college humor and you basically have a somewhat entertaining thriller-comedy.
