I first found Shelter of Wings online on Christian Comic Art Society (CCAS) this online manga is amazing in story & art, with traditional manga art styles.
The story is of a teen girl that sees Angels & Demons, she thinks she’s going nuts after their Mom’s death in a car accident but when her guardian angel appears & takes her on a journey interesting things in the Spirit realm begin to take place.
Angels battle demons, she struggles with guilt & shame & her brother deals with his own anger, jealousy & resentment. This Manga is in two volumes, volume 1 can be bought online in pdf form or as a paperback or enjoyed online for free. Though I highly recommend buying if you can & support the artist.
The story is being continued in a second volume that is up to 12 pages of the first chapter as of the date of this review.
When I started reading this online I literally couldn’t put it down for the next five hours. It’s an excellent read, be prepared to laugh, to cry & also feel the praise that goes out to God through this Manga.
My personal favorite character is Toby, the cat, he doesn’t have a large role but I find him to be a great addition to the cast.
I’m usually leary about most Christian Manga’s as I’ve found, though through good intentions of the creators, many (not all) are corny & have poor storyline but I highly recommend this Manga it contains no corn & the story, characters , art & production are all high-quality.
