Next Food Network Star
The Final 4 Pilots!
My Thoughts

My mom, Sean, and I love the show Next Food Network Star! We’ve been watching it all season long and this one was better than last year’s. I like how they changed the format and put the contestants on teams. The teams were Bobby, Giada, and Alton. Today was the final regular episode before the finale and they aired four potential pilots from the final four. Here are my thoughts:

Michele: Her pilot is about New England seafood. On the show she said that there’s not enough cooking shows about the seafood in New England. I agree with her. She honestly did a good job and the chowder she ate looked yummy! and I like how she looks like the kind of person who you could just kick back and hang out with. Although I’m not sure if she’ll win, I do hope that she finds her place on TV because she seems like a genuine person.

Justin: I wasn’t sure if I liked Justin at first, but he grew on me. He is a good person. In his pilot, he paid respect to Alton Brown and then did his own spin on an old dish. Now, for the record, I believe that Justin respects his elders. I could tell because of the way he talked about his dad on past episodes. Plus, like I said, he did play footage some of Alton. I just didn’t like how he kept saying “My generation.” It seemed to be a tiny bit disrespectful.

Yvan: This is probably the nicest guy in the competition. He has a warm smile. In his pilot, he had his family help him cook and eat a dish that he had made. What’s great about Yvan is that he is a family man and wants to include them in his success. He’ll be tough to beat.

Martie: I’ve always liked Martie-and not just because we’re both from Birmingham, AL! She is a beautiful and charming woman. I loved that in her pilot she made shrimp. Like she said, people from Alabama love shrimp! She even had a story with a funny ending to go with it. She’s come a long way.

I wish all of these wonderful people great success in the future. It is my hope and prayer that they continue cooking and use their success to help others. I also pray that they all know that it was Jesus who first believed in them!

Now, let’s eat!
