The Bill Collector
Great Quotes from The Set
More From Danny Trejo

Norfolk, VA - Staring Danny Trejo (Spy Kids), The Bill Collector movie has just completed week two of principal photography. Throughout this week, Danny Trejo has been with us, inspiring us, teaching us and turning in great performances every day. On Thursday, October 16, he even took a bullet for us (a fake movie bullet, of course.) He was not harmed.

The following are some quotes from Danny on the set of The Bill Collector.

“I think the thing that surprises me the most about this shoot, this movie, is the crew… and the cast, they’re all like….  You know, everyone is really professional – I love being around people that love what they’re doing… and you know, I love what I do.  So, to be around this many people that love what they’re doing it’s really a joy… It’s really a joy to come to work and it’s a joy to be at work. I’ve worked with bigger crews, but I haven’t worked with better crews.”

“I was once asked: what part God has played in my life.  And I had to just kinda say, well without God I wouldn’t be here.  You know, in 19-sixty…8, in prison, it was like, you know, I was just blessed.  I had to realize that I was either going to die in prison or I was going to dedicate my life to helping other people.  I was mad at God, so I could just – so I couldn’t dedicate my life to God.  So I dedicated my life to helping other people, and I kinda found out… that’s God…  You know what I mean? So he tricked me.  But literally it’s like – that’s what happened to me.  And in the course of trying to help other people, I found God again.  You know, and it’s been a blessing. My life is a blessing.  And I’ll testify to God anytime, — you know –anyplace.”

“This is actually the first time I’ve been on set where we start each day with prayer. And I’ve been working in this business since 1985.  So I’m just, I’m on cloud 9 here, it’s just so beautiful.  It’s such a wonderful, wonderful work environment, if you even want to call it work – it’s beautiful.  We just say a little prayer, and then – let’s get on with it.”
