A Trip To The City

Dear Diary;

Today I took a quick trip to the City. I hardly had to wait at the bus stop long at all before a bus came rolling along to take me from Bat-Cave to that wondrous place called the City. I must admit, I was a bit nervous about what I’d find there, and whether or not I’d fit in. We’ve all heard stories about how cruel and dangerous the City can be. Fortunately, though, most of that seemed to be unbiased rumor. Everyone I encountered in the City was kind and courteous. I even ran into a fellow named Phineas who gave me a bubble wand for free! I took in a show, visited a boutique (which was crazy expensive, by the way), had my fortune told, and even visited a hair salon (which was also a little too pricey for me). I left the City with two main impressions; that it wasn’t as big as I thought it would be, and that it’s really expensive. Perhaps my life in Bat-Cave will eventually prove fruitful enough to allow me to enjoy more fully what the City has to offer, but for now, I can only look and wish.

In other exciting news, a new neighbor moved into to town today; Lolly. Lolly seems like a pleasant cat, but she didn’t really have time to talk due to the fact that she was still settling in (her house was full of boxes). I’m looking forward to getting to know her better. After I met my new neighbor, I went for a stroll along the beach and found a coconut! How exciting! I immediately took that coconut and buried it in the hope of growing my very own coconut tree. Time will tell if I planted it in a good spot. Thanks to some of my favorite past times such as fishing and shell collecting, I’m steadily paying off my rent to Tom Nook. I even found some goods in the lost and found and the recycle bin at town hall and sold some of that stuff too (I hope it didn’t belong to any one I knew…or liked). Among my other activities, I also changed the town flag today. Seeing as how this town is called Bat-Cave, I figured a flag with the symbol of the bat would be more fitting. So I went to the Mabel sisters shop and made a new design that is now not only flying high over our town, but I also on the front of my shirt (how chic!). All in all, I’m enjoying life in my new town, and I look forward to the new adventures that await me tomorrow.
