Dear Diary;
The snow did fall and it was beautiful. Granted, it was sticking when I went to bed, but it was still fun to see those fluffy flakes gently wafting to the ground. I think my first Christmas in Bat-Cave is going to be quite lovely, and I have a feeling that we’ll see a white Christmas.
However, not all is quite so lovely in Bat-Cave. As you may remember, I finally got my invitation to Redd’s Emporium (a fancy word for black-market, as I understand it). Well, today I took my three thousand bells and finally entered into Redd’s. Once there, I was delighted to find a rare (or so I thought) painting, a Jolly Painting, that I jollily paid over three thousand more bells to purchase so that I might benevolently donate it to the Museum. Unfotunately, when I took it to the Museum, I was told that it was a forgery; a forgery that I paid three thousand bells for! Can’t say that I find my experience at Redd’s all that exciting. Then again, I was warned this might happen. In any event, I sent the fogery of the Jolly Painting my friend Adri in Orlando.
On a more positive note, I finally got to use my slingshot. A ballon was gently gliding through town carrying a present, and I took the opprotunity to use my slingshot to shoot it down. What did the present contain? Well, it happened to be a telescope. I guess that means I don’t have to go to the town’s planetarium anymore for a closer look at the stars.
So although my trip to the City was a bust (crazy Redd and his forgeries, I wonder if I should turn him into the authorities…then again, I don’t have any proof that he knew that it was a forgery), I guess it was still another pleasant day overall in Bat-Cave. Oh, I still haven’t figured out what to do with that lamp…yet. I have an idea I’ll try this weekend. More on that to come.
