Dear Diary,
It’s been tough getting back into a normal routine after the excitement of the holiday season, but life is slowly returning to normal here in Bat-Cave. That’s not to say that everything’s exactly the same, however. We did have some departures and new arrivals recently. Jambette recently decided to vacate Bat-Cave for parts unknown, and a big ol’ falcon name Pierce just recently moved here from Orlando, my friend Adri’s town. I’ve also hear rumbles from Yuka about moving away, which seems pretty severe since she’s a fairly recent arrival.
I do have a couple of big pieces of news to share. One, Kay and I have been contributing to the town fund in order to put in a new bridge. We’d really like one right in front of Tom Nook’s place to make it easier to get to, but it all depends on how the voting goes. Our town fund is now just over 200,000 bells, and if we reach 500,000 we’ll get to put in a fountain. That’ll look so nice. (I’ve also heard you can get some rare stuff out of the fountain as well).
The other big piece of news I have to share is I paid off my mortgage…again. But of course that crafty Tom Nook talked me into adding yet another addition to my house, this time an upstairs. I admit it looks nice, and it’ll be nice to have the space, but man is that raccoon racking in the bells. I’ve been collecting some very special furniture pieces for my upstairs, and I think it’ll come together nicely when it’s all done. So far I have a lunar rover, a moon, an asteroid and a lunar lander. Yup, I have a nice space theme going for upstairs, all I need are a few more pieces and the wall paper and carpet.
One last thing, I’ve decided to play the stalk market. This warthog named Joan comes every Sunday to sell turnips. You can buy them from her at one price and sell them to Tom Nook during the week for a higher price…maybe. She also offers red turnips which you have to plant and water all week, but if you keep them healthy you can get some a lot of bells in return. I’m was going to give that a shot, but she had already sold out of red turnips, so I’ll try again next week.
That’s all for now, I’ll update you again soon.
