I reported Sunday about a Los Angeles gathering of Christian leaders who met with VIP’s from Walden Media and Twentieth Century Fox. (See Footage Screened by Group in Los Angeles.)Among the group was Focus on the Family’s vice president of Global Product Development and Innovation, Paul McCusker.
McCusker is also a long-time writer, director and producer for the “Adventures in Odyssey” series, as well as the director of Radio Theater dramas such as the Chronicles of Narnia series. (See Narnia Nostolgia Part 5, which is the first in a planned series of reviews.) He has also authored many novels and plays.
On his website, PaulMcCusker.com, the prolific writer weighs in on what he saw at the Los Angeles event. He was impressed by highlights and other footage shown, and advises viewers of his site to mark December 10 (the opening day for the film) on their calendars.
According to McCusker, the filmmakers
talked about their desire to get this picture back to the sensibilities of “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe,” to recapture the “magic” and get away from the action-adventure-teen-heart-throb approach of “Prince Caspian.”
Although there will be changes from the book, they are “in keeping with the spirit of the book,” he says.
