WBUR, the PBS Radio affiliate in Boston, recently produced an episode of On Point which included an hour on the King James Bible. The show is carried by over 210 stations across the United States.
Host Tom Ashbrook interviewed Gordon Campbell, author of Bible: The Story of the King James Version 1611-2011, and Margaret Mitchell, co-editor of the first volume of The Cambridge History of Christianity. Campbell is professor of renaissance studies at the University of Leicester in England, and Mitchell the dean of the divinity school at the University of Chicago and professor of New Testament and Early Christian Literature.
The three spoke on a wide range of topics concerning the book which has been in print for 400 years, including the beauty of its language, its relevance today, and brief comments on its future. They also took questions from a few callers.
