Ally McBeal redefined a lot of things (besides fashion, as short skirts were described as being “Ally McBeal short”). It fit neither the mold of the hour-long drama nor of the half-hour sitcom, thus paving the way for shows like Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty.
The storylines and surgeries only continue to get stranger as the characters have all but been exhausted. But despite the show’s multitude of flaws, it has just enough left in its tank to limp to its finish line.
“What’s Christmas without angels?” grinned Ms. Downey when I asked about the newly collections. The season when we celebrate the meeting of humanity and divinity is perfect timing for this reminder of God’s love appearing in our individual journeys.

The villains remain the same, but now the X-Men find themselves battling across the globe AND through time itself. (I’m a little fuzzy on how Professoer X got into the future, but it is via a coma. Is that a spoiler?!?!?)

Trial and Retribution seeks justice, in the face of terrible crimes and the reality that our job doesn’t stop influencing us even when we clock out. Dealing with who we are in our entirety allows us to be true to ourselves—even when it doesn’t look pretty.
Zorro left his mark on TV history just as much as he did on his enemies, and now you can own this wonderful collection of his first full-season of fun and adventure. It’s just as good as you remember it, and maybe more so.
Full of Glee? It’s hard to have missed NBC’s ads for the school club show about singers, but if you have, their first volume of covers is worth a shot.
In many ways, the television series was better than the last movie in the series, with an unusual blend of spirituality and science fiction and a story line that had one coming back for more, from week to week. Too bad that many missed out on this wonderful television experience.

The cases comment on the characters, and the characters often comment on the show (like when the chief says, “We’ve been resting on our laurels. … It stops, and it stops now”, an acknowledgment that the show rights itself).
Less ridiculous and more natural feeling storylines, less celebrity cameos, and a less one-note quality to many of the characters makes Ugly Betty fantastically lovable. Living in “BettySuarezland” isn’t such a bad place to be.
